A nominating campaign commenced in October 2012 to encourage the Norwegian Nobel Committee to recognize the profound and increasing impact creation of the Internet has had upon hundreds of millions of individuals.
The goal is to encourage the Nowegian Nominating Committee to consider awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to the founders in the fall of 2013 or the following year.
Dr. Sarah McCue serves as campaign chair. Dr. McCue is the author of several business and technical books on the power of the Internet to benefit humanity; served as Global Practice Manager for the United Nations Development Program Information and Communications Technology for Development practice; serves on the Panel of Advisers to the United Nations Global Alliance for Technology and Development; and served as a World Bank Senior Technology Sector Partnership Specialist. She serves on the Board of Directors of American Digital University to bring online education to developing countries, and is an Advisory Board Member to DataWind, manufacturers of low-cost tablets for developing country markets.
